Mark Buyers: Chief Executive Officer
Mark has a long history in oilfield service companies and Product Development. Entering the Oil and Gas Business with Flopetrol, Mark left to develop the first Mercury Free sampling service before branching out with Syd Fraser to establish the Omega name as a leading independent in the provision of electronic memory gauges, wireline tools and completion equipment.
Mark was the major driver behind the development of the highly innovative Saltus Slickline Trigger service in 1994. Recognising an industry need to reduce the costs associated with electric line operations, the Slickline intelligent firing head was developed. Saltus SubSurface Services, the company formed around this technology was sold to The Expro Group in 1998.
Specialising in Mechanical design, Mark has developed a number of tools that were licensed to other companies such as the Releasable Rope Socket and Unibalance Pressure Cycle Plug licensed to Petroline. Mark is a named author on 16 granted patents and another 5 in various stages of process.
David Forsyth: Technical Director
David joined Omega in 1998, bringing extensive experience in the field of Completion design and wellbore intervention engineering. Starting with Baker Oil Tools in 1988, David rose to the position of Region Engineer, responsible for the introduction of new technology, product development and design.
Specific projects included design responsibility for multi-lateral systems (industry first triple lateral), flow control components, packers, annulur safety and lateral entry systems.
Since joining Omega, David has worked with Mark to develop the Omega Tractor, Horizontal Jar and SPOT tools to name a few. David is a named author on 10 granted patents with another 5 in various stages of process and has a Bachelor of Science Degree (Mechanical Engineering with Distinction).
Brian Garden: Managing Director
With over 35 years in the oil industry, Brian has vast experience of the Well Services Sector.
During his 24 years with the Expro Group, Brian gained in depth experience as a Slickline Operator, Well Services Supervisor, Wireline Services Manager, and Global Cased Hole Manager. He went on to establish the Slickline Department at QServ. 2002 saw him joining ASEP as UK Europe Africa Manager. Following their acquisition by NOV Elmar, Brian went on to manage their Europe African and Global Service After Sales operations.
A senior manager of considerable standing, Brian's skill set gives him a unique understanding of the global Well Services business, encompassing operational, engineering, manufacturing, after sales service and business development.
Brian believes in providing clients with the combination of cutting edge technology underpinned by traditional standards of top level service and reliability.
A perfectionist with great energy, enthusiasm and commitment, Brian prides himself on teaming up with clients to fully understand their needs, always delivering top quality service and solutions.
Graeme McRobb: QHSE/Projects Manager
Graeme McRobb has over 30 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry. Joining Omega in April 2011 he previously spent 4 years as Engineering Manager with Tendeka where he focused on the Swellfix product range. Prior to Tendeka, Graeme spent 10 years with Weatherford Completions initially as the Eastern Hemisphere QHSE Manager & latterly as the Global Engineering Manager for the Flow Control Product line. In both these roles he had staff from various continents & locations reporting to him & was responsible for the research and development as well as sustaining engineering efforts for all products within the Flow Control Group.
Graeme spent 10 years with Petroline (prior to Weatherford acquiring the company) as the Engineering Manager with control over all the product development activities, research and development operations and engineering personnel. In this role he also controlled all the QHSE & intellectual property activities.
Prior to Petroline Graeme was a Design Engineer at Baker Oil Tools for 4 years, where as part of a completions design team he worked on various designs & drafting for a variety of cased hole completion tools.
Graeme completed a 3 year full time HND in Mechanical & Offshore Engineering at Aberdeen’s RGU.
Scott Mitchell: Global Business Manager
Scott joined Omega from Oilenco, where he held the position of Sales Director responsible for Sales, Service and Operations. Scott began his oilfield career in 1989 with Expro in the Wireline department gaining in depth experience as a Slickline Operator, Well Interventions Supervisor, Onshore Wireline Supervisor and Global Product Line Manager.
In 2000 he joined Weatherford as a Well Systems Engineer before moving to Wireline Engineering in 2003 to bring together custom design engineering and manufacturing services to the well intervention industry. In 2008 he Joined Peak Well Services as Regional Sales Manager before moving to Oilenco in 2010.
A senior manager of considerable standing, Scott’s skill set gives him knowledge of the global Intervention business, encompassing operational, engineering, manufacturing, after sales service and business development.
Kevin Wood: Business Development Manager
Kevin joins Omega as Business Development Manager from Peak where he held the position of Technical Sales Manager, prior to this he worked for both Weatherford and Halliburton as Technical Sales Engineer and Service Co-ordinator.
He started his oil industry career at Schlumberger e-line as a Wireline Operator and has over 15 years’ experience in intervention operations within the oil and gas industry.
Joachim Nessa: General Manager - Norway
Joachim Nessa joined Omega in May 2014 after over eight years with Interwell where he had various roles within Sales and Operations.
Joachim started his oilfield career with Maritime Well Service in the wireline department, and brings with him more than 10years’ experience during which time he has worked in different locations around the world.
Richard Pyper: Operations Manager
Richard Joined Omega from Schlumberger in October 2003 as an Omega Field Technician. From 2003 onwards he was involved in testing and running Omega products Worldwide.
Now in an Operations supervisory role he provides support and training to Omega's growing Operations team.
Neil Campbell: Business Development Manager
After graduating from the Robert Gordon University with a BSc (Eng) in Engineering Design Neil joined Wireline Engineering Ltd as a Trainee Design Engineer where he spent 2 1/2 years gaining knowledge of downhole tool design.
In 2008 Neil moved to Baker Oil Tools where he worked in the flow control group before joining Omega in 2009. Specific Projects within Omega include the Dual Cycle Equalising Valve, Pressure activated Equalising Valves, Hydraulically Activated Anchors/Shifting Tool and latterly the ISO 14310 VO tested ReAct™ Equalising Valve.
